Used Equipment Assistant

We are the main JCB Construction dealer covering South Wales & South West, with six depot locations. In line with our continued investment and growth plans, we are seeking a Used Equipment Assistant working from our Port Talbot depot. This role would ideally suit someone from a plant or agricultural background or anyone with a knowledge or keen interest in heavy machinery. If you know your way around an excavator or a backhoe and think you have what it takes to assist with the sales of our used equipment, then we would like to hear from you!

Hours: Full time

Start Date: ASAP

 

Purpose of role:

You will report to the Used Equipment Sales Manager and assist with the company meeting its budgeted sales objectives in used equipment, customer sales numbers, sales volume and profit aspirations.  The role is varied and as a confident individual, you will be assisting in managing the daily activities of the all aspects of used equipment within the business, ensuring that processes are completed and adhered to at all times, which include: -  

  • Carrying out the underwriting procedure
  • Need to be able to carry out machine inspections (training available)
  • Computer literate (Excel/Word/Salesforce CRM system)
  • Social media aware
  • Processing of machine photos (uploading to websites etc)
  • Keeping our internal photo bank updated
  • Control of used equipment arrivals/departures
  • Controlling internal repair costs and liaising with workshops
  • Completing export documentation
  • Market awareness & research (finding new dealers/customers)
  • Maintaining presentation of used machines in depot(s)

 
Key Competencies

  • IT skills with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel and Salesforce CRM system.
  • Time Management – ability to manage time effectively and deal with conflicting priorities and changing deadlines.
  • Organisational skills - managing multiple requests and hitting deadlines, whilst ensuring own workload is being attained.
  • Interpersonal skills – ability to communicate at all levels of the business, able to articulate effectively.
  • Personal – confident individual with and outgoing personality.
